Thin Lizzy é uma banda de hard rock formada em Dublin, Irlanda, em 1969. Dois dos membros fundadores, o baterista Brian Downey e o baixista e vocalista Phil Lynott, se conheceram ainda na escola. Lynott liderou o grupo ao longo de sua carreira de gravação de doze álbuns de estúdio, escrevendo a maior parte do material. Os singles "Whisky in the Jar" (uma tradicional balada irlandesa), "The Boys Are Back in Town" e "Waiting for an Alibi" foram sucessos internacionais. Após a morte de Lynott em 1986, várias encarnações da banda surgiram ao longo dos anos, baseadas inicialmente nos guitarristas Scott Gorham e John Sykes, embora Sykes tenha deixado a banda em 2009. Gorham posteriormente continuou com uma nova formação, incluindo Downey.
Lynott, líder de fato de Thin Lizzy, foi compositor ou co-compositor de quase todas as músicas da banda e o primeiro irlandês negro a alcançar sucesso comercial no campo do rock. Thin Lizzy apresentou vários guitarristas ao longo de sua história, com Downey e Lynott como seção de ritmo, na bateria e no baixo. Além de multirracial, a banda atraiu seus membros não apenas dos dois lados da fronteira irlandesa, mas também das comunidades católica e protestante durante o The Troubles. Sua música reflete uma ampla gama de influências, incluindo blues, soul, rock psicodélico e música folclórica irlandesa tradicional, mas geralmente é classificada como hard rock ou, às vezes, heavy metal. A revista Rolling Stone descreve a banda como distintamente hard rock, "distante do zurro metal dos anos 70"

O crítico da AllMusic, John Dougan, escreveu que "Como força criativa da banda, Lynott era um escritor mais perspicaz e inteligente do que muitos de seus colegas, preferindo dramas de amor e ódio da classe trabalhadora fatiados da vida influenciados por Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Bruce Springsteen, e praticamente toda a tradição literária irlandesa. "[3] Van Morrison, Jeff Beck e Jimi Hendrix foram grandes influências durante os primeiros dias da banda, e influências posteriores incluíram os artistas americanos Little Feat e Bob Seger e o gêmeo pioneiro. guitarras encontradas em Wishbone Ash.
Em 2012, Gorham e Downey decidiram não gravar novo material como Thin Lizzy, então uma nova banda, Black Star Riders, foi formada para turnê e produção de novos lançamentos, como o álbum de estréia, All Hell Breaks Loose. Thin Lizzy planeja se reunir para concertos ocasionais. 

  Aqui só está listado os cd´s com o vocalista Phil Lynott ,não sei se os cd´s seguintes são bons,mas quem sabe se é fala aí nos comentário.

Bom, o Thin Lizzy com sua pegada blues,hard rock e uma pitada do estilo irlandês fez muito sucesso no final dos anos 70.Por experiência própria sempre me arrepio quando escuto os cd´s renegade e chinatown ,cd´s espetaculares.Uma banda para quem curte Blues com hard rock muito massa.Eu quero vê se você não vai baixar os cd´s dessa banda estupenda ,se não baixar vai virar funkeiro.
