     Deep Purple é uma banda de rock inglesa formada em Hertford em 1968. [1] A banda é considerada uma das pioneiras do heavy metal e do hard rock moderno, [2] [3] embora sua abordagem musical tenha mudado ao longo dos anos. [4] Originalmente formada como uma banda de rock progressivo, a banda mudou para um som mais pesado em 1970. O Deep Purple, junto com o Led Zeppelin e o Black Sabbath, tem sido referido como a "trindade profana do hard rock e heavy metal britânico no início e meados dos anos setenta". Eles foram listados no Guinness Book of World Records de 1975 como "a banda mais alta do mundo" para um concerto de 1972 no Rainbow Theatre de Londres  e venderam mais de 100 milhões de cópias de seus álbuns em todo o mundo.
